Transport - Simon Hughes

I am fighting to connect Bermondsey and Southwark to the rest of London. Improving its infrastructure, providing greater access to other parts of the city.

I am fighting for an extension of the Bakerloo Line, a new bridge from Bermondsey to Canary Wharf, a new pier, and an expanded Cycle Hire Scheme.

All of these will help put Bermondsey on the map and help boost the local economy. Southwark is an area that deserves to be on an equal footing with other parts of central London. The people of Southwark deserve to be given the opportunity to play a full role in the life of 21st century London.

Jubilee Line stations in Southwark and Bermondsey, new bus routes like the C10, the Overground - all have already been delivered. But I want more. We want a stronger local economy, and improving our transport links is a great way of achieving that.

None of the other parties have been fighting for better transport for as long as I have.
