Bermondsey salutes Haye's fantastic world title win

Simon Hughes, Liberal Democrat MP for North Southwark and Bermondsey on Saturday night sent a message to Germany after David Haye's incredible world heavyweight title win to congratulate him on behalf of all his thousands of South London friends and fans.

Commenting, Simon Hughes said:

"We sent David to Germany with our wishes and hopes, but it was against all the odds that tonight David has beaten Goliath.

"Yet again, following in the footsteps of Lloyd Honeyghan, South London has shown that we can deliver the best boxing not only in Britain, but in the world.

"There will be enormous celebrations when David returns home."
