In praise of the Tamil demonstration in Parliament Square

Speaking after talking to the protesters at the end of their protest in Parliament Square, Liberal Democrat MP Simon Hughes said: "The Tamil community in Britain have organised the most effective demonstration in central London since the days of the anti-apartheid protests in Trafalgar Square.

"The round-the-clock vigil in Parliament Square is over for now, but the next chapter of the political battle for peace and justice for Tamil people in Sri Lanka has only just begun."
