Hughes survey says C10 and 381 must get better5.44.29pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 22nd Aug 2008 Simon Hughes is continuing his campaign to end overcrowding on the C10 and 381 during rush hours. He has been surveying local residents over the last six months and this week has demanded that Transport for London make improvements in response to residents' frustrations. Commenting on the results of his survey into the 381 and C10 bus routes, Simon Hughes, MP for North Southwark and Bermondsey, said: 'Earlier this year, the local Liberal Democrat campaign led to extra services on the C10 and 381 bus routes. As I am determined that everyone in Bermondsey and Rotherhithe should have decent bus services, I have conducted a comprehensive survey to determine what further improvements my constituents needed. 'The response to the survey has been fantastic and has given a voice to the passengers who have been let down by their local buses. My survey revealed that many passengers are still not able to board a bus during rush hours due to overcrowding and that many have concerns about the behaviour and professionalism of bus drivers.' Survey respondents also made excellent suggestions for installing countdown timers at bus stops and better timetabling to stop three buses coming along at once.' 'Passengers should be able to board a bus safely at any time of the day. I will continue to press Transport for London to give us the bus services which local residents deserve.'
