The People’s Millions is a partnership between the Big Lottery Fund and ITV, where the public helps to decide which local community projects received up to £50,000 of Lottery funding.
Since 2005 date the Big Lottery Fund has funded 599 projects through the programme and a total of £31.3 million. In this time over 3.3 million votes have been cast by the public and the programme continues to attract applications from groups who have not been funded by us before.
This is a great opportunity for 76 projects to receive up to £50,000 to inspire, involve and improve their local community. Through ITV coverage across the UK we want to encourage different types of groups to apply for Big Lottery Fund grants and raise awareness of Lottery funding.
Each night for a week in November, those who make the best applications will compete for the public vote on prime time ITV regional news. Whether or not they succeed, the competition represents a great opportunity to mobilise support and publicity behind a local cause.
Any local groups looking for funding are encouraged to visit to www.peoplesmillions.org.uk or contact the Big Advice Line on 0845 4 10 20 30 or Text Relay 18001 plus 0845 4 10 20 30 (for those with a hearing or speech impairment). The deadline for applications is 16 May 2014.
